According to the Survey of India, seven summits in the Himalayas rise to a height of 4,160 metres around a glacier lake, and each of those peaks features a carved Nishan Sahib. You can get there via the Badrinath Highway, which begins in Govindghat. The closest major city to Govindghat is Joshimath, which is located approximately 19 kilometres away. Hemkund Lake is roughly 4,160 m above sea level.

Traveling through the Valley of Flowers
1. Accommodations: Stay in a hotel in Govindghat for two nights with roommates in a triple or quad configuration. Three nights’ hotel stay in Ghangaria for three people sharing a room
2. Meals: Every meal was vegetarian and nutritious, starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with breakfast on Day 6. The Valley of Flowers trekking programme also includes morning and evening tea served with small snacks.
Safety gear: The guide or trip leader will carry emergency gear like a first-aid kit, oxygen tanks, pulse oximeters, and so on, and it will also be kept at the campsite in case something unexpected happens.
4. Professional trek leaders: All of our trip leaders have taken at least one basic or advanced mountaineering course and are certified in first aid.
5. A team of trekking experts: expert mountain guides, cooks, helpers, and porters make up the mountain crew for the Valley of Flowers hike.
Things to pack
- Minimum capacity of 55 litres with rain cover backpack: You need to find a high-quality backpack with a snug fit and shoulder straps that don’t irritate your body. If you’re looking for a quality hiking pack, head to your local Decathlon.
- Day backpack (20–30 litres): As you move closer to the top, you will only need to carry a few essentials; therefore, you will need a daypack since you will leave your larger one at the campsite.
- Slippers or sandals: Even if you’re wearing high-quality shoes the whole time, you can’t risk getting blisters or itching if you don’t allow your feet to breathe. Sandals and floaties will provide you the most freedom of movement while you’re at camp.
- Trekking Shoes: An excellent trekking shoe is comfortable, supports the ankle, and has a decent grip.They need to be lightweight and strong rather than cumbersome and unwieldy.
- Three Dry-Instant T-Shirts: Three or more sets of quick-drying tees should be keep so that dirty clothes can be washed in between pauses.
- Track pants: Polyester track pants are great because they allow your skin to breathe. They’re simple to pack, quick to dry, and pleasant to wear. Invest in a high-quality pair of track pants to prevent embarrassing chafing and skin irritation.
- Three Bundles of Cotton Socks: When hiking, you can always count on a solid pair of cotton socks due to their durability, breathability, and ease of movement. If they get wet, you should change them and not wear them at all.
